Ground op aims to ‘break strategic tie’ with Hamas, ex-intel chief says
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleFormer Military Intelligence Chief Amos Yadlin says the ground offensive is necessary to “break the strategic tie” between Israel and Hamas.
He tells Army Radio there are two key goals: To destroy Hamas tunnels all along the Gaza border and to hurt the Hamas military wing, which has not been much harmed thus far.
Only if the Hamas military wing is badly damaged, says Yadlin, will it seek a ceasefire.
