Hamas delegation arrives in Egypt for talks on Gaza truce, hostage-prisoner exchange

A delegation of Hamas officials, led by Khalil al-Hayya, has arrived in Egypt “to begin negotiations on mechanisms for a ceasefire, withdrawal of occupation forces, and prisoner exchange,” the terror group announces.

Hamas refers to the hostages it abducted during its October 7, 2023, terror onslaught, which started the ongoing war, as “prisoners.”

As part of US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war, Israel is set to release 250 Palestinian security prisoners currently serving life sentences, as well as more than 1,700 people from Gaza who were arrested over the course of the two-year war in the Strip.
