IDF spokesman: Large numbers of troops operating against Gaza targets
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleIDF spokesperson Maj. Gen. Moti Almoz says IDF hit thousands of targets in first stage of Operation Protective Edge and will continue in its mission during the second phase.
“Large numbers of ground troops are heading to their objectives in the Gaza Strip,” he says, about an hour after troops first entered the Strip.
The IDF operation will expand as necessary, and the troops are highly motivated, he adds.
He calls on Gaza residents to evacuate homes near where IDF troops are operating.
The IDF’s Twitter feed adds that Israel will continue to hit Hamas hard in the forthcoming operation.
