A man was shot and killed in Tel Sheva this morning, in what police say was part of a blood feud between two Bedouin families in the southern town.
The victim, 40-year-old Bilal Atwa al-Asim, was killed outside a gas station in the village. The shooting also injured a 19-year-old, who was taken to the hospital with light injuries, paramedics say.
Police suspect the dispute was reignited due to a fight between children from the two families, which escalated into a violent conflict between the adults.
Large forces from the Southern District are now operating in the area and searching for suspects in the deadly shooting.
Police have been heavily active in the Negev desert in recent days, after National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir declared a new operation, dubbed “New Order,” in the region aimed at combating arms trafficking, violent crime and traffic violations.
