The man whom the IDF said it “neutralized” in Hebron last night after he drove at soldiers was shot dead, according to the Palestinian Authority.

He is identified as Shaker al-Jaabri, 58. His body was detained by the IDF, the PA says.

Last night, the IDF reported that forces shot and “neutralized” an assailant who had accelerated his car toward soldiers in the al-Sheikh neighborhood of Hebron in the southern West Bank. No soldiers were hurt, according to the military.

Later, the military said an initial probe did not yield clear evidence of a deliberate attempted ramming attack.

Neither IDF statement had said the assailant was killed or that his body was being held.
