The new allegations of sexual misconduct against Rabbi Mordechai “Moti” Elon were made by a number of people, not just the young man cited in an investigative report that aired earlier today.
According to Hadashot news, the man who filed the complaint against Elon with a religious forum dealing with sexual abuse, was among “numerous” complaints made against the rabbi recently.
Earlier today, the investigative news show “Uvda” reported that Elon admitted to admitted to engaging in sexually inappropriate behavior with the man he was supposed to be counseling. The man recorded several of their encounters and turned the tapes over to other leading rabbis.
When the rabbis confronted Elon with the recording, he admitted to the sexual misconduct and agreed to step back from his responsibilities and seek treatment.
The new allegations come five years after Elon was convicted on two counts of sexual assault.
