The National Security Council holds a meeting on international assistance in dealing with the fires west of Jerusalem.
Three Canadair aerial firefighting “Superscooper” planes are on their way from Italy and Croatia, according to the NSC.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is heading to the command center of the firefighting effort, says his spokesman.
