Netanyahu, Edelstein presenting revised conscription bill to UTJ officials to stop them from bolting coalition – report

According to Hebrew media reports, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman Yuli Edelstein are currently meeting with Haredi representatives of the Degel HaTorah faction to present them with an updated ultra-Orthodox enlistment bill — likely averting a coalition crisis that would have seen the United Torah Judaism party bolt the coalition.
This comes shortly on the heels of a spokesman for Rabbi Dov Lando, the spiritual leader of the Degel HaTorah, part of the larger United Torah Judaism party, announcing that the faction’s MKs would resign from the government today over the Haredi conscription issue.
