Nuclear talks hinge on US avoiding unrealistic demands, Iranian official says

Seriousness about lifting sanctions on Iran and the avoidance of unrealistic demands on the part of the United States are key to ensuring effective nuclear talks in Geneva, a senior Iranian official tells Reuters.

The official, who declined to be named, claims Tehran is coming to the negotiating table with “genuine and constructive proposals.”

No further details are given.

Iran has insisted that the discussions be limited to the nuclear issue, though Washington has previously pushed for other topics to be discussed, including Tehran’s ballistic missiles and support for terror groups and armed militias in the region.
