An Israeli man was extracted from the West Bank city of Qalqilya earlier today by the Palestinian Authority’s security forces and handed over to Israeli troops, according to Israeli authorities.

The Civil Administration — a branch of the Defense Ministry’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) — says it received a report of an Israeli man wandering around Qalqilya “with a real risk to his well-being.”

As in previous cases, the Civil Administration contacted PA security services to locate and transfer the civilian to Israeli forces.

“Upon receiving the report, officers from the Ephraim District Coordination and Liaison Office acted to provide immediate protection to the Israeli, and simultaneously to transfer him to the security forces through the coordination channels,” the Civil Administration says.

The man is expected to be questioned by the police over his entry to the Palestinian city, as it is illegal for Israeli citizens to enter PA-controlled territory in the West Bank.
