The Palestinian Authority Finance Ministry announces that it will only be able to pay 50 percent of public sector salaries this month.

Paychecks are slated to be issued this week, with minimum salaries not to fall below NIS 2,000 ($650) after the cuts.

The PA is facing its more dire financial crisis in years amid Israel’s withholding of billions of dollars in funds that belong to Ramallah.
