Pence abruptly heads back to DC; spokeswoman says no cause for alarm

Mike Pence’s spokeswoman says the US Vice President abruptly headed back to DC after taking off for New Hampshire.

“Something came up that required the @VP to remain in Washington, DC. It’s no cause for alarm. He looks forward to rescheduling the trip to New Hampshire very soon,” the spokeswoman tweets.

Separately, reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin canceled his scheduled commitments for the day abruptly appear to have been false.
