Qatar’s prime minister lands in Venezuela
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleQatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani arrives in Venezuela, where he is greeted by Foreign Minister Yvan Gil, images on state television show.
Neither government has given a schedule or other information on the visit, but Qatar has long served as an intermediary between the United States and Venezuela and aided negotiations between the Venezuelan government and the opposition. The US captured then-Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro last month in a nighttime raid.
