Rally planned for Hostages Square tonight postponed because of the fires and winds
Hostages Forum announcement postponing an eve of Independence Day rally because of fires and winds in central Israel, April 30, 2025.
A rally planned for Hostages Square tonight has been postponed because of the fires and winds causing havoc in the Jerusalem area and beyond, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum announces.
The rally, intended to coincide with the start of Independence Day and highlight the plight of the 59 hostages still held in Gaza, will be rescheduled, the forum says.
It says the postponement is on the advice of the police and other authorities: “While the families are deeply moved by the intention of thousands to come and stand alongside them in solidarity, the safety of all participants remains the highest priority.”
