Graffiti sprayed outside the offices of the Army Radio in Jaffa threatens “your time is running out, your days are numbered.”
The graffiti reads: “The head of the snake, the Supreme Court, the Department for Internal Police Investigations, prosecutors. Secular heresy. Must be removed.”
The style of the graffiti mimics the lettering found in religious texts.
In November, threatening graffiti was found spray-painted outside the offices of the Channel 13 news network in Tel Aviv.
Last month, the cabinet unanimously approved Defense Minister Israel Katz’s controversial proposal to shut down Army Radio, with broadcasts set to end by March 1. The High Court of Justice has issued an interim order freezing the closure until the court reaches a final ruling on petitions against the move.
The legal system has long been targeted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s hardline government.
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
