UAE top diplomat encouraged by increased contact between Israel, Palestinians

In Washington, after meeting Lapid, the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates says the Palestinians are key to regional peace.
“The Palestinians are going to be the most important element of the success of peace in the region,” says UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan. “We cannot just talk about peace in the region without the neighbors, the Palestinians and the Israelis are not on talking terms.”
He says he’s excited that Israeli ministers have been meeting PA officials.
“We have to keep encouraging them, but also broadening the opportunities for them.”
