US environment chief cancels Israel trip over expense scandal

US Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt is canceling his planned visit to Israel, the Washington Post reports.

Pruitt, was set to visit Israel for a week-long trip, but has faced criticism for the cost of his travel expenses. He has been traveling first class to avoid confrontation with critics.

“We decided to postpone; the administrator looks forward to going in the future,” EPA spokeswoman Liz Bowman tells the Post without giving a reason.
