Man found dead in synagogue in apparent suicide

Police open investigation into death of unidentified person in West Bank settlement of Beitar Illit

A man was found dead Sunday night in a synagogue in the West Bank settlement of Beitar Illit in what police believe was a suicide.

Police opened an investigation after a man was found dead of a bullet wound.

After initially saying the circumstances were unclear, police said the incident is apparently a suicide.

The victim, shot in the head, has not yet been identified.
