Kadima MK calls on Europe to learn from the past, deal quickly with Iran

Europe must learn from past mistakes and not respond “too little and too late” to the Iranian threat, Kadima faction chair Dalia Itzik said on Thursday.

Speaking in Rome at a conference in honor of the release of a revised edition of Theodor Herzl’s 1896 book “The Jewish State,” Itzik told an  audience that included Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi and other senior Italian government officials that Europe must listen very carefully to the words of Iran’s extremist leaders.

The Iranian regime wants to destroy the Jewish State, she told them, and a nuclear Iran would be a threat to the entire world, not just Israel.

Itzik accused Iran of “ignoring the world, and making its progress toward military capabilities.” She added that “Iran is not only Israel’s problem, but it is also Italy’s problem and Europe’s problem.”
