After debriefing from Vance, Trump says Iran’s refusal to give up nuclear ambitions collapsed Pakistan talks

US President Donald Trump says that he has been debriefed by Vice President JD Vance and envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner after they returned from a day of negotiations with senior Iranian officials in Pakistan.
“There is only one thing that matters,” he writes on Truth Social, “IRAN IS UNWILLING TO GIVE UP ITS NUCLEAR AMBITIONS!”
He indicates that there were some areas of agreement on the nuclear issue, but that Iran would not give up on its ostensible right to enrich uranium.
Trump calls Iran’s leadership “volatile, difficult, unpredictable people,” then in the next sentence says that his three negotiators “became, not surprisingly, very friendly and respectful of Iran’s Representatives, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, Abbas Araghchi, and Ali Bagheri.” Still, he says, the Iranian team was “very unyielding as to the single most important issue,” adding that “IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!”
He also pans Iran for failing to open the Strait of Hormuz, acknowledging that no ship owner would want to chance sailing through the waterway.
“They better begin the process of getting this INTERNATIONAL WATERWAY OPEN AND FAST!” he writes.
