Ambulance service reports 2 homicides, over 3,000 injuries and 149 babies born over Yom Kippur
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe Magen David Adom ambulance service says medics treated over 3,000 people during the Yom Kippur holiday, including 2,165 who were brought to hospitals.
Among those who required medical care were 293 people who fainted, were dehydrated or suffered other ailments due to the fast; 295 hurt while riding bikes, scooters or skateboards; and over 20 people who were injured in traffic accidents.
MDA also says two people were killed in suspected homicides: A 19-year-old woman in the southern city of Rahat and a man in his late 20s from the northern town of Tuba-Zangariyye.
Additionally, medics assisted in the birth of 149 babies over the Jewish fast day.
