Gantz says budget deadline extension can be passed in a day

Blue and White leader Benny Gantz tells his faction that he wants to see a bill delaying the deadline for passing a budget make it through the Knesset by this time tomorrow.

“The government will okay the proposal to amend the date needed for the budget tonight, the Knesset will pass it and within 24 hours, without tricks or shtick. It’s possible, legal, correct, and ethical,” he says.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would back the bill on Sunday, though some in his party have indicated that the support only extends to a preliminary or first reading, with no guarantees for the rest of the votes on it.
