The Israel Defense Forces says in a statement that it has arrested five people in the West Bank since yesterday evening in connection with two separate incidents, both involving Molotov cocktails.
Forces operating near villages in the northern West Bank identified two terrorists who were planning to throw Molotov cocktails at a road in a civilian area, the army says.
The soldiers fired at them to eliminate the threat — wounding one — and arrested both of them, according to the IDF.
Additionally, forces operated in Kafr Malik, northeast of Ramallah, following an incident in which assailants threw an explosive device and a Molotov cocktail at a road leading to a military base at Mount Hatzor.
According to the military, neither device detonated and there were no injuries.
The IDF says three people suspected in the incident were arrested overnight.
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
