The IDF says it has launched a pursuit of dozens of Israelis who launched an attack on a West Bank Palestinian village this evening.
According to the IDF, the incident is tied to the evacuation and demolition of an illegal outpost near the settlement of Efrat earlier today.
The military says that “after the evacuation of the illegal structures… IDF, Border Police, and Israel Police forces rushed to the village of Jaba following a report that dozens of Israeli civilians had set fire to and vandalized homes and vehicles in the area.”
“Security forces are searching for those involved; the incident is still ongoing,” the army says.
“The IDF views all violence of any kind gravely and condemns it, as it harms security in the area,” the military says, adding that such “acts of violence divert the attention of commanders and soldiers from defense and counterterrorism missions.”
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
