Mortar shells from Gaza hit open field; Ashkelon siren appears to be false alarm
Multiple mortar shells reportedly strike an open field in the Eshkol region, after sirens blare throughout southern Israel, including the city of Ashkelon.
There are no reports of injuries or damage.
According to the Ashkelon municipality, the sirens in the city appear to have been a false alarm.
“There have been no reports of impacts and according to the assessment of security services, no rockets were fired at the city,” a spokesperson says.
