Sa’ar in India: Eradicating Hamas is at heart of Trump’s plan, Israel won’t compromise on it

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar says that Israel won’t compromise on disarming Hamas and demilitarizing Gaza under US President Donald Trump’s peace plan.
“The eradication of the Hamas terror state is at the heart of President Trump’s plan. Hamas must be disarmed. Gaza must be demilitarized. We won’t compromise on it,” Sa’ar says while in New Delhi, during a meeting with his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
He adds, “The radical terror states of Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the Houthis in Yemen have established themselves over the past decades. Uprooting them is necessary for the security and stability of our region.”
“Radical terror is a mutual threat to Israel and India,” Sa’ar continues, condemning the “horrific” terror attack in Pahalgam earlier this year.
He adds that Israel seeks “to promote connectivity between South Asia, West Asia and Europe,” and “supports regional connectivity projects” such as I2U2, a strategic economic partnership between India, Israel, the US, and the United Arab Emirates, and the planned India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).
Jaishankar welcomes Sa’ar’s visit and notes India’s interest in exploring economic opportunities with Israel.
During their meeting, the two ministers sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in diplomatic cadet training, according to Sa’ar’s office.
