US envoy Barrack hails dissolution of Kurdish-led force in Syria

The United States hails the dissolution of a Kurdish-led, Washington-backed force in Syria that was at the forefront of the battle against the Islamic State group, and its merger into the country’s army.

“This is what real integration looks like: not winners and losers, but former counterparts with differing points of view crafting a diplomatic solution to strengthen the sovereign nation of Syria. One army, one government, one state,” says the US special envoy to Syria and Iraq, Tom Barrack, who is also the ambassador to Turkey.
