Mossad looking for new recruits on Facebook

Israel’s intelligence agency is seeking fresh recruits on its new Facebook page, launched on Monday.

“If you are looking for an exciting career change, if you’ve always dreamed but haven’t yet dared… We’re looking for high-quality people,” the page said in a post.

Though there are no specific jobs advertised, an action-packed video shows a glamorous mashup of drones, hacking, clandestine operations and high-level meetings.

“Advertising the positions on Facebook will allow for more efficient recruitment, and access to a wider population,” the intelligence agency said in a statement.

Previously, positions were advertised on the Mossad’s website in several languages, including English. But the agency hopes to reach a wider audience by listing its vacancies on social media.

The Mossad said that its varied and diverse roles include “special functions, intelligence, technology, cyber, computing, economics and logistics.” The agency also stressed that it had positions suitable for both men and women, including jobs for students, people with disabilities or special needs and those interested in serving abroad.

The agency has recently advertised several positions including for an optimist with a sense of humor and spontaneity, a leatherwork craftsman, an accountant for a position that included “unusual field work,” and a carpentry specialist.
