Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s father, Benzion, fell ill Tuesday evening — possibly from dehydration — and was treated by paramedics who rushed to his apartment.

Magen David Adom responded to the call and treated him on the spot. They said he was in stable condition and left his apartment later in the evening.

Netanyahu, 102, celebrated his birthday last month in Jerusalem. He once served as secretary to Zeev Jabotinsky, an early Revisionist leader of the Zionist movement.

A professor, he is considered one of the world’s leading historians on medieval Spanish Jewry and the Inquisition.
