Antisemitic US Congress candidate loses Democratic primary but gets more than 40% of vote

Maureen Galindo, an antisemitic candidate for US Congress, loses her primary, but gets around 41% of the vote.

Galindo’s opponent, Johnny Garcia, is projected to win the election with 59% of the vote, with 66% of votes counted, according to The Associated Press.

Galindo secures more than 5,700 votes in the Democratic party primary in the 35th Congressional District runoff in Texas.

During the closing weeks of the campaign, Galindo repeatedly raised antisemitic conspiracies, and called to imprison and castrate “billionaire Zionists,” sparking widespread condemnation in the Democratic party.
