In comments after landing in Israel, US President Joe Biden recalls how his father would “imbue in us a sense of obligation” to never forget the horrors of the Holocaust.

He pledges to “fight the poison of antisemitism wherever it rears its ugly head.”

Turning to the itinerary of the trip, he says he will tour cutting-edge Israeli defense systems, including Iron Dome and Iron Beam.

“We’re going to deepen our connections in science and innovation and work to address new global challenges through the new Strategic Dialogue on Technology,” he says referring to a new collaboration announced earlier today.

He notes the virtual meeting he’ll hold with the leaders of Israel, India and the UAE — a new forum called the I2U2, which will deepen economic cooperation between the Middle East and the Indopacific. Biden says that he will work during his trip to advance Israel’s integration in the region more broadly.
