China calls for peace talks in Iran war, urges end to conflict

All parties should work in the same direction and “create conditions for starting truly meaningful and sincere peace talks,” a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson saÿs when asked if China is aware of any ongoing negotiations between Iran and the US.

“The pressing priority is to actively promote peace talks, seize the opportunity of peace and promote the cessation of the war,” Lin Jian, the ministry spokesperson, says during a regular press briefing.

A Chinese defense ministry spokesperson similarly calls for all parties to stop military action in the conflict between the US, Israel and Iran.
