Interreligious brawl reportedly breaks out on flight to Romania

A brawl broke out between passengers on a flight from Tel Aviv to Bucharest overnight, Romanian news outlets reports, requiring riot police to meet the plane after it landed at Henri Coandă International Airport.

According to the reports, the fighting broke out between passengers of different faiths after some began praying, angering others.

The reports do not specify the faiths of the alleged parties or if the conflict had anything to do with the thousands of Hasidic Jews making their way to Uman, Ukraine, via neighboring countries, including Romania, for an annual Rosh Hashanah pilgrimage.

According to local news site Antena3, seven people were fined 4,000 leu ($925) each. They also face police questioning in coming days, according to news site libertatea.ro.
