Ombudsman to probe pre-military academy trip after flood kills 10
State Comptroller Yosef Shapira opens an investigation into a trip by a pre-military academy last week, during which 10 students were killed by a flash flood in southern Israel, which went ahead despite serious weather warnings.
The Education Ministry and Defense Ministry have exchanged accusations over which body was supposed to approve trips by the pre-military academy. The principal of the academy, Bnei Zion, and an instructor have been arrested on suspicion of negligent homicide.
