Pompeo believes Israel will adopt peace plan ‘no matter who wins election’

In an interview with Channel 12 news, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says he believes the administration’s peace proposal will move forward “no matter who is elected” in the March 2 election.

The excerpts from an interview with Pompeo, which is to be aired Wednesday, were provided in Hebrew only, and not in the original English.

Pompeo tells the network the plan will bring peace and prosperity to the region. “Arab states understand times have changed,” he said of ostensible Arab support for the proposal.

On the matter of annexation, Pompeo says: “The Israelis will make decisions according to Israeli law. We’ve seen how Israelis handle the matter of settlements [legally], and they always find their way.”
