Russia: Blasphemous to call slain Gazans ‘terrorists’

Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov says it is “blasphemous” to call dozens of “peaceful” protesters killed on the Gaza border by Israeli forces “terrorists.”

“I cannot agree with the fact that dozens of peaceful civilians, including children and infants, who were killed in these incidents were terrorists. This is a blasphemous statement,” Lavrov says at a news conference in Moscow.

Israel alleges that a number of those killed during the clashes were in the midst of carrying out attacks. Earlier Wednesday, an official for the Hamas terror group said 50 out of the 62 Gazans killed were members of the organization.
