24-year-olds’ car apparently hit truck before it overturned

Two 24-year-old IDF naval officers were killed late Tuesday night when the car they were traveling in flipped on Highway 4, near Rishon Letzion in the center of the country.

Israel Radio reported the two were on their way to a navy base in Ashdod at the time of the accident.

Two other passengers were injured and rushed to Sheba Hospital at Tel Hashomer after the crash, which took place near the Holot Junction.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Initial findings indicate that the car hit a large truck traveling in front of it before it flipped.
