An 18-month-old died on Monday when her family’s apartment went up in flames in Jaljulya, near Kfar Saba, in central Israel.

The girl’s mother was badly injured, suffering burns and smoke inhalation, while a two-year-old sibling was moderately hurt. The toddler’s father and grandfather were also lightly injured. All four were taken for further treatment at a nearby hospital.

The cause of the fire was being investigated by police and rescue forces.
