An Israeli tank armed with a new anti-missile defense system shot down a rocket fired at it from Gaza Wednesday.

There were no injuries and no damage after the Trophy system successfully defended the tank along the border with Gaza.

Also Wednesday morning, an explosion rocked Gaza as a jeep carrying members of Hamas’s military wing blew up. First reports suggested that the explosion, near Gaza City, was caused by a device detonating prematurely.

One death and two injuries were reported by the Gazan Health Ministry. Ynet News reported that all the casualties were members of Hamas’s military wing and that operative Ayman Sharfa, 22, was killed in the blast.
