Ansar al-Sharia in the Islamic Maghreb planned attacks on strategic sites, government says

Moroccan authorities announced the arrests of eight members of a terrorist group that planned to “commit acts of sabotage against strategic sites,” according to an AFP report on Monday.

A statement from the Interior Ministry said the men comprised a cell of Ansar al-Sharia in the Islamic Maghreb and that they were developing a relationship with groups linked to north African al-Qaida groups.
