Cummings Foundation giving $100,000 grants to economic, social justice innovators

Fund seeking visionaries and dreamers who don’t have resources

JTA – The Nathan Cummings Foundation will award three one-year, $100,000 grants to work on economic and social justice issues related to the environment, arts and culture, and health care.

“We are seeking a person who always had a vision and a dream, but lacked the resources to make that dream a reality,” said Simon Greer, president and CEO of the New York-based foundation.

Recipients also will receive an office in New York and support from the foundation’s staff.

The foundation is seeking projects that promote health care and social justice, and fosters arts and culture that enriches communities, according to its news release.

“The Nathan Cummings Foundation Fellowship Program seeks to give risk-takers and out-of-the-box thinkers the resources they’ll need to execute groundbreaking projects that address major social or economic issues of our time,” Greer said in the statement.
