Lebanese media outlets reported Friday afternoon that the Israeli Air Force was conducting mock raids over southern parts of the country, one day after an unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down by the IAF off the coast of Haifa.

According to reports, Israeli aircraft were seen flying low over areas near Bint Jbeil, Marjaayoun, Tabnin and the Litani River.

It was also widely reported in the Lebanese press on Friday that Israel had increased its forces and activity along the border, and that the Lebanese army and UNIFIL forces had stepped up their patrolling of the area.

An Israeli military source said Thursday that the UAV shot down near Haifa came from Lebanon and was sent by Hezbollah.

Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon accused the Iranians of using the Lebanese-based terrorist organization to test Israel.

“We’ll respond where we see fit, but there will be a response,” he said.
