Call it the latest step in Lindsay Lohan’s comeback: Rather than drinking or clubbing, the rehabbed actress spent her Saturday night dining with a Jewish senior.

That the Jewish senior was Woody Allen is fueling speculation that the “Mean Girls” star could be in contention for a role in the director’s next film.

Both Allen and his young dining companion ignored questions as they exited Manhattan’s Philippe restaurant, though Allen did thank a TMZ reporter for directing him to his Mercedes. The 76-year-old, who won his fourth Oscar in February for his “Midnight in Paris” screenplay, is currently awaiting the June release of “To Rome With Love,” and is said to be working on a project that will film in San Francisco. He’s also reportedly set to play a Hasidic pimp in a movie called “Fading Gigolos,” which will mark his first turn in front of the camera since 2006.

Lohan, for her part, appears to be on the mend personally and professionally, having largely avoided tabloid headlines in recent months, and signing on to play Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming TV movie. The mere mention of her name in connection with Allen’s is a good thing for the actress, even if their dinner doesn’t lead to a movie role.

The pair were joined at the meal by Soon-Yi Previn, Allen’s wife.
