Bolivia will no longer require Israelis to obtain visas to enter the country, according to a social media post from Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar.

“Thank you, President [Rodrigo Paz], for eliminating the visa requirement for Israelis,” Sa’ar posts on X. “This decision will allow thousands of Israelis to return to Bolivia after many years, enjoy its rich culture and impressive landscapes, and contribute to strengthening the ties between our people.”

Paz, a center-right candidate, took office this year following years of left-wing government in Bolivia during which the country cut off relations with Israel. Paz’s election heralded a shift in that policy.
