Cabinet now meeting to discuss exit from lockdown

After several delays, the cabinet is now meeting to discuss when and how to end the weeks-long national lockdown, as virus infections remain high throughout the country.

Benny Gantz’s Blue and White is demanding a clear exit plan outline to present to the public, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is much more reluctant to set anything in stone.

The lockdown is currently set to end tomorrow, but Netanyahu wants to delay to Sunday.

The Health Ministry reportedly seeks a gradual opening starting next week as well.
