Compromise deal reached, PM to speak at Independence Day event — report
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleCulture Minister Miri Regev says a compromise deal has been reached with the Knesset Speaker that will see Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu light a ceremonial torch and speak at the official state Independence Day celebrations next month.
“I am happy that personal matters were set aside and that common sense has prevailed,” she says according to the Ynet news site.
Some reports in Hebrew-language media said the compromise deal did not include a public address by Netanayhu.
