Edelstein says Israel to hold talks with Russia on its vaccine
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleHealth Minister Yuli Edelstein says Israel has scheduled talks with Russia on the coronavirus vaccine that Moscow approved for use earlier today, despite concerns about its safety.
“If we’re convinced that this is a serious product then we’ll also try to enter negotiations,” Edelstein says while touring a factory that makes N95 masks in Sderot.
Edelstein notes Israel has inked supply deals with US-based Moderna and Arcturus Therapeutics for the vaccines they’re working on and is closely monitoring reports on the development of an inoculation.
Israel announced last week that it would begin human trials in mid-October on a vaccine developed by the Defense Ministry’s secretive Institute for Biological Research in Ness Ziona.
