Israel slams ‘extremist’ Irish bill outlawing settlement trade

Israel slams the Irish government for advancing legislation that will ban trade with Israeli settlements, calling it a “populist, dangerous and extremist anti-Israel boycott initiative.”

A statement from the Foreign Ministry says the bill would economically harm Palestinians, set back Israeli-Palestinian dialogue and would “have a negative impact on the diplomatic process in the Middle East.”

It says Jerusalem will “consider its response in accordance with developments regarding this legislation.”
