Liberman doubles down on denial of ceasefire deal with Hamas
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleIn an interview with Hadashot TV news, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman again denies the existence of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
Liberman’s denial comes as Hebrew media reports say a series of Egyptian and UN-brokered understandings took effect earlier today with the reopening of the Kerem Shalom Crossing with the Gaza Strip.
According to the reports, the understandings include a return to the status quo following the 2014 Gaza war, with Hamas stopping attacks from the Strip and Israel reopening the crossing and extending the permitted fishing area.
The cabinet was briefed on the understandings earlier today, the reports say.
