Agriculture Minister Avi Dichter spoke with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Likud MKs, and has asked them to stop the judicial overhaul bills until after Independence Day, multiple Hebrew-language media reports say.

Israel’s Independence Day will be held on April 26.

“There will be no way back,” Dichter is quoted as saying by Channel 12 news.

Dichter, who is a former director of the Shin Bet security agency, joins Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who is reported to have told Netanyahu about the dangers the judicial overhaul will cause to the military.
